Preconception Care

Ripening Moon assists women who are just beginning to think about becoming pregnant and women who have been trying to conceive for many cycles. Single and multiple visits are offered, as well as home or office appointments. All visits include time for questions and answers, and are tailored to each woman's or couple's individual concerns.

An initial visit lasts approximately 2 hours and includes:

  • Introduction to the menstrual cycle
  • Recognizing a woman's fertile signals, and how to chart them
  • Timing intercourse or insemination for best chance of pregnancy
  • Fertility enhancement through nutrition and lifestyle
  • Complementary therapies
  • Men's fertility (where applicable)
  • Donor choices (where applicable)
  • Recommendations for pre-pregnancy health screenings
  • Early pregnancy decisions

"During my topsy-turvy fertility journey, it has been very comforting and helpful to have Kimberly to turn to. She is so knowledgeable about all aspects of fertility, and really good at getting to the heart of the matter and giving me the tools I need to make informed decisions about my choices. The care she's given me has always been focused on my own particular needs and never resembles a cookie-cutter approach. She has helped me feel much more confident about my body. She doesn't forget the emotional aspects of trying to get pregnant, and her calm support has been priceless."

-Jennifer, 35

Follow-up visits last about 1 hour and include:

  • Interpretation of charts
  • Follow-up to timing intercourse/insemination
  • Support for emotions/challenges of conception process

If you are experiencing fertility challenges, my goal is to help you stay connected to your heart and body. A typical appointment in this situation will include:

  • Talking about your choices in a non-medical, no-pressure setting, to help you determine what level of intervention is best suited to your family;
  • Helping translate medical language into something understandable;
  • Supporting you in times of anxiety and grief; and
  • Connecting you with alternative care practitioners if desired.
